ADMISSION IN UK

Undergraduate Admissions
The qualifications you need depend on the course you want to study. You'll be expected to have completed at least 13 years of education in your own country or the UK, and to have taken pre-university qualifications equivalent to UK A-levels, Scottish Higher or National Diplomas.

HND Qualifications equivalent to one or two UK A-levels, two Scottish Highers or a Higher National Certificate or BTEC National Diploma; or an international foundation year. Plus IELTS 5.5-6.0

Foundation Degree Qualifications equivalent to one or two UK A-levels, one or two Scottish Highers or a National Diploma; or an international foundation year. Plus IELTS 5.5-6.0 Diploma of Higher Education Qualifications equivalent to one or two UK A-levels, two or three Scottish Highers or a National Diploma; or an international foundation year. Plus IELTS 5.5-6.0

Degree Qualifications equivalent to two or three UK A-levels, three or four Scottish Highers, a Higher National Certificate or Diploma, or BTEC National Diploma; or an international foundation year. Plus IELTS 6.0-6.5

Post Graduate Admissions

To begin a postgraduate course in the UK, you'll need to hold an undergraduate degree from the UK or overseas. This is the foundation from which you'll be able to go on to a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma or a master's degree and then, afterwards, to a PhD. You'll be expected to have obtained a first or good 2:1 (or international equivalent) in a directly related subject and you'll also need to speak English to at least IELTS 6.5 level.

Visa Application Process
For Non EEA Students
If you do not belong to EEA (European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) then you'll have to fulfill some immigration requirements. Students belonging to many countries will need to obtain a British Student Visa to study in UK. They can do this at the British Embassy, High Commission or Consulate of Britain. Students from some Commonwealth countries where obtaining a student visa is not compulsory must also have to get entry clearance before leaving their home. This is to make sure a Right of Appeal in the unlikely event that entry is refused.

Documents Required to Obtain British Student Visa

  1. A valid passport
  2. A letter of unconditional acceptance for a full-time course from a university
  3. Mark sheets of previously joined exams
  4. Evidence of your financial ability to meet, without working in the UK, the costs of your course, accommodation and maintenance and to support any dependants accompanying you.
  5. Letters of recommendations are appreciated

FINANCIAL AIDS

Scholarships and Financial aid are available for International Students in UK. Generally no scholarships are provided in UK. However if you are extraordinary then you may be eligible for some financial aid. In United Kingdom, fee is charged higher for non-EU students. It is because British Government doesn't provide any financial support for providing education to non-EU students. Since Living cost and university or college fee is comparatively expensive, it is very important for you to be financially capable to carry on your studies in UK.

To support your costs while studying in UK, you are permitted to do 20 hours a week of part-time job. However it is not sure that you may get the job in UK, so be careful. If you are financially not capable before you enter UK and are thinking to spend the money you have earned doing part-time job in UK for your studies then you may have problem after you'll be unable to get any type of job in United Kingdom.
