SHS Students and Graduates Beware

We wish to warn SHS students and graduate to be careful about individuals and organizations that engage in false and deceptive publications and online advertising with the aim of persuading students and parents to pay huge sums of money as if the payment made is what will make the students successful.

Fees for classes for any of the admission tests should not be high for the reason that the content of the admission tests that may be required are almost the same as the content on the senior high school English and/or Mathematics plus the fact that it is the student’s hard work in studying that makes the difference.

Fees for assistance with applying for admissions and/or scholarship should not be exorbitant because the individual or organisation is not the one granting you the admissions or scholarship and plus the fact that even the institution which will grant the admissions and scholarships may only charge a small amount as application fee.

Due to the rising activities of these individuals and organizations in schools and our communities, we advise SHS students and graduates to find out about each step of the process and the fair charge for receiving the assistance before making payment to such individuals and organization by asking what precisely the payment is for.

Important Note

Families must start planning for higher education finance when their children are young, because only the most outstanding students, students who have devoted months to planning successful admissions strategies, can hope for full scholarships at either the undergraduate or graduate level. Most financial aid or scholarships are partial awards that cover only a fraction of the total cost, so parents must be prepared to contribute as much as they can. The more financial aid a student needs, the more competitive the admissions process.

Fraud Alert

We take the opportunity of your visit to our website to warn you of the increasing activities of fraudsters who are defrauding students and parents under the claim that they can secure admissions, scholarships and visa for students. These fraudsters’ modus operandi are to take advantage of the lack of information on the limited opportunities that exist for Ghanaians to study abroad on Scholarships. We encourage you to read the FRAUD ALERT page for information on some of the means being employed by fraudsters in international education in Ghana to avoid becoming a victim of these fraudsters.
